ISO 14001 Foundation

ISO 14001 Foundation is both a training course and a certification.

Candidates will be required to follow the training course in self-study mode or E-learning mode at their convenience, considering the 12 months’ timeframe for training and certification.

Pre-recorded videos and materials will be made available to the candidate for further training. Candidates will also have access to an examination questionnaire to help them prepare for the exam. Candidates will be allowed two attempts at the exam, but these must be completed within the allotted time.

The international standard ISO 14001 presents the fundamental concepts of an Environmental Management System (EMS). A global benchmark, it is a powerful tool to help organizations of all sizes limit the environmental impact of their activities.

Organizations that have adopted ISO 14001 can testify to their success in staying ahead of environmental regulatory requirements, while at the same time offering a responsible image and opening up new markets.

The latest version of ISO 14001 takes into account users' expectations and practices, as well as changing environmental concerns in the light of global warming.

The PECB Certified ISO 14001 Foundation training course presents the basic information on the concepts of environmental management and an overview of the ISO 14001 requirements. By participating in this training course, you will be able to understand the different aspects of an EMS, including the environmental policy, operational controls, performance measurements, management commitment, internal audit, management review, and continual improvement.

The successful completion of the training course is followed by an exam. If you pass the exam, you can apply for the “PECB Certificate Holder in ISO 14001 Foundation” certificate. An internationally recognized “PECB ISO 14001 Foundation” certificate validates your professional capabilities and demonstrates your ability to take part in an implementation project of an EMS based on ISO 14001.

The ISO 14001 Foundation training course is intended for:

·         Managers/consultants seeking to get acquainted with the basic concepts of environmental management

·         Individuals aiming to transform their organizations into more sustainable and environmentally conscious entities

·         Individuals interested in getting acquainted with the main requirements of ISO 14001 for an environmental safety management system

·         Individuals interested in pursuing a career in environmental management

This training course enables you to:

·         Understand the basic environmental management concepts, definitions, and approaches

·         Get acquainted with the ISO 14001 requirements for an environmental management system

·         Develop a general understanding of how ISO 14001 requirements could be applied in an organization

The training course is participant centered and contains:

·         Lecture sessions illustrated with graphics, examples, and discussions

·         Interactions between participants by means of questions and suggestions

·         Quizzes as a simulation and preview of the certificate exam

There are no prerequisites to participate in this training course.

•            Day 1: Introduction to environmental management, EMS, and clause 4-6 of ISO 14001
•      Day 2: Clauses 7-10 of ISO 14001 and certificate exam

The exam fully meets the requirements of the PECB Examination and Certificate Programme. It covers the following competency domains:

·         Domain 1: Fundamental principles and concepts of environmental management and environmental management systems

·         Domain 2: ISO 14001 requirements for an environmental management system – Clauses 4 to 10

ISO 14001 Foundation exam will be 100% online.

Candidates will be asked to come to 1simple1's premises or take the exam in our accredited exam room, where they will be supervised in real time or you can take it from your home.

ISO 14001 Foundation exam lasts 1hr. Candidates may retake the exam if they fail during the 1-year interval.

Once you have passed the exam, a certificate will be issued if you meet all the requirements for the selected title.

Certificate and examination fees are included in the price of the training course

PECB will provide training material of over 200 pages of information and practical examples.

An attestation of course completion worth 14 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) credits will be issued to the participants who have attended the training course.

In case of exam failure, the candidate can retake the exam once for free within 12 months of the initial exam date.
